Dòng Thơ Lưu Vong
Người ta in thơ ra rồi mới bán
tôi bán thơ trước khi in ra
vì muốn biết còn bao người thích đọc
vì muốn biết bạn bè ở quanh ta
có bao nhiêu người mang nỗi lòng Do Thái
dựng trong tim một dải Sơn Hà
sống ở đâu cũng nhớ về đất Tổ

người ta in thơ ra rồi mới tặng
tôi tặng thơ trước khi in ra
vì muốn biết còn bao người say đắm
được ngắm mình trong ngôn ngữ Mẹ Cha
vì muốn biết giữa điệp trùng tiếng động
còn bao người nghe trầm sóng dòng sông
đang luân chuyển tấm lòng thơ mở rộng
vào mạch quê hương khát vọng tự do

sự chênh lệch giữa thơ mua và tặng
giá ước chừng hơn một tách cà phê
chữ để đọc hay chỉ là để ngắm
cũng bâng khuâng từ mỗi cuộc đi, về
người muốn mua thơ hay thích tặng
kẻ làm thơ cũng trân trọng cám ơn
vì đã biết còn tấm lòng cảm nhận
những yêu thương trên mỗi chặng căm hờn

trân trọng viết hai chữ Việt Nam
nơi trang bìa của "Dòng Thơ Lưu Vong"
trên nền vàng của phi trường, cửa biển
nơi vẫy chào vĩnh viễn những tấm lòng
những tấm lòng đi viết thơ trên đá, cát
mỗi dòng thơ khao khát nghĩa hòa bình
viết mãi miết theo hành trình gió hát
những bài ca hùng tráng thuở bình minh.

People print their poetry then sell it
I sell my poetry before it is out
because I want to know if people still like reading
the exile’s poetry written to be sent back home
I also want to know among my buddies
how many are feeling the same pain as Israelis
and keeping in their hearts an image of the country
so they are always homesick wherever they live

People print their poetry then they give it free
I give away my poetry before it is out
because I want to know if people are still eager
to look at themselves through the parental language
I also want to know if, in the noisy world
people are still able to hear the whispers of the rivers
that are conveying the open hearts of poets
to the people at home now thirsty for freedom

The difference between free and paid poetry
is about the price of a cup of coffee
Whether the verses are to be read or just looked at
an unnamed sadness is experienced when going or
return
Whether the readers want to buy my poetry or have it
free
I am grateful to all of them for their interest,honestly
because I know there are still the people who empathize
with me
with love and compassion on every stage of the struggle

I have the honor of writing the words of Việt Nam
right on the cover of the collection of exiles’ poetry
on the yellow background of airports and harbouns
where people wave farewell to the ageless hearts
Of those who leave, writing poetry on the sand and
rock
Each verse that expresses the thirst for a true peace
will be written endlessly during a hard journey
where the wind will sing the grand songs of the olden
